Archive for a new generation of Chinese Christian writers
From July 2022 till now, there are 59 Christian writers/organizations uses YeeDao website (Chinese pronunciation for “sever together”, “rely on the Word”, “righteous path”, “billions prayers”) to backup their spiritual articles. All of them are self-media writers using one of the most popular social platform - Wechat public account to do writing ministry.
The content of articles includes: meditation, spiritual articles to encourage other Christians to follow Christ; pro-life articles and testimonies to support pregnant women in difficult times; missionaries’ stories happened in China; daily short messages wrote by Christians with metal health issue to share their faith journey and most importantly, the Gospel message . These valuable spiritual articles record God’s faithful guidance in mainland China. More importantly, a lot of the touching testimonies will also be a great spiritual treasure for Christians and faith-seekers around the world.
Yet, unknown to many people, these articles is not searchable outside of Wechat platform. In the recent years, many influential Christian writers’ account has been closed down. Nowadays, there are stricter regulation for publishing new articles through Wechat. People even need to use short codes to replace many sensitive words, e.g. Bible, church, prayer.
In these four months, YeeDao now stores 11,000+ Chrisitan aricles. As more people are getting to know this ministry, more writers/organization agrees to backup their articles on YeeDao. On the other hand, we give thanks to God that the overall statistic of this new website is growing steadily month by month.
Tianlu forum
Share · Connect · Grow In Christ
Different than YeeDao, Tianlu (Chinese word for “Path to Heave”) focus on develop an online Christian community.
As mentioned above, due to the stricter regulation, many Christian writers need to find a place where they can write and share their Christian faith without worrying about articles being deleted. Many ministry news, and Christian resources are also shared in the website. As you can see the numbers in the screenshot, many articles has reach thousand views.
We use Flarum (an open source forum) for this website. And it offers many functions we hope to use more in the future. We hope to use this forum to connect Chinese ministerium around the world, and support each other. This website can also be used for local churches online chat room, or virtual connecting place partnering churches and para-church organization.
LingTing
In 2021, We got a chance to connect with two Chinese Christian singers . We are getting to know is hard to either get licensed or published like the other music genre. And they can only receive donation but cannot sale their music to support themselves or their music ministry.
LingTing (Chinese words for listen closely) is online since November 2021. Now we have receive the permission from 8 Christian singers, and 64 albums, and 870 songs, for total of 34,000 + plays.
TianLu TV
During the pandemic, many churches start to boardcast their online service through Youtube , we notice many teaching are not only not helpful but misleading to Christians or Christian-seeker. This Youtube sourced video website is online since August 2021.
Because we only select the good Christian teachings to add to our video list, and the videos played on this site are directly streamed through Youtube. We are able to limit our server cost and also offer fast speed.
About Us
Peter and Ashly married in 2013, are a couple from mainland China.
Peter is born and raised in a Christian family, and start his ministry when he is 18 years old. From 2006 to 2016, he serve in many cities and churches, and serve with missionaries to do short trainings in different places. After he reunion with Ashly in 2016 at Ottawa. He support and help to serve Ottawa local churches till 2019.
Ashly become a Christian in her second year in her university. Since then she passionately and devoted serve her local churches. She came to study at Vancouver School of Theology in 2011, and serve as student intern at Ottawa Chinese Alliance Church (Now called “Knight Street Church”) in her four years in Vancouver.
After graduation, she moves to Ottawa in 2015, and served two local Chinese churches till 2019. Now they are blessed to have a 21-month daughter Leah, and also are expecting another baby girl in 2023.
Future Plans
All our websites are running steadily now. Both the register users and visitors are growing. Our first goal for next year to spread the word - introduce YeeDao ministry to more Christians, Churches, and para-church organizations. We hope to partner with more Christian writers/singers to use our websites.
As our ministry grows, we hope to recruit volunteers to join us in serving the Internet communities.
Three of the four websites have approved for google Ads, which is a good start to generate a bit income for our ministry. We hope receive donations, and incomes that can support our ministry, as well as Christian writers, and singers serve with us.
